Light Blue & White Gingham Check Cotton Scrunchie

This Blue & White Gingham Cotton Scrunchie has been made by using leftover Savile Row Bespoke Shirting Cotton, thoughtfully supplied by Stephen Lachter Ltd.

Due to the “waste not want not” mindset Suyamba was raised by - it proves very difficult to let beautiful pieces of cloth go - no matter how small they might be! This is a constant cause of consternation for those she lives and works with.

Due to the nature of hand making pieces, there are often leftovers of lovely fair trade and organic cottons as well as Savile row suiting wools, silk and shirting stored carefully for that “perfect” project that takes years to materialise/make time for…

With the above in mind, “zero waste” scrunchies were born!

Each Scrunchie made is one of a kind due to limited quantities of each material and the handmade nature of them. They all vary in size and shape (i.e. amount of gathers and width)

Due to the limited amount of fabrics available in each design, these are incredibly  unique and some are completely one off and cannot be re-made.
